LMS (Locomotive Management Services) was formed by Conrail and General Electric in 1994. These locomotives are scheduled to spend six months of the year on Conrail during peak traffic periods, and the other six months of the year leased to other carriers. LMS currently owns a fleet of 60 General Electric C40-8W locomotives.
