General Electric U36C

GE's 20-cylinder 3600 horsepower answer to the EMD SD-45.  The U36C was a powerful workhorse. Conrail inherited its13 U36C's from the Erie Lackawanna.  These units were delivered in November, 1972.  Like other newer power, these units were worked hard in the early years.  These units spent years in storage before being returned to their lessor in December, 1987.
