EMD GP40-2

Conrail inherited five of it's EMD GP40-2's from the Reading Company. Another 122 units were purchased from General Motors in four orders between 1977 and 1980. These 3000 hp. four axle locomotives are seen on the head-end of many fast MAIL and TrailVan Intermodal trains.
