Conrail maintains a fleet of three E8 passenger units for use on the Executive Train. These are the last un-rebuilt E units on any class 1 railroad. Their original GM 567 engines (two 1200 hp. V12's in each unit) produce the distinctive sound of the first generation of GM diesels. Enjoy it while you can.
