Marriage Joke? Dear Friend, Although this is written as a joke, it is serious. We must take action today. Thanks to Craig & Kathy for the thought-provoking joke! Action Steps Follow. Second week at the Marriage License Bureau............... "Next." "Good morning. We want to apply for a marriage license." "Names?" "Tim and Jim Jones." "Jones? Are you related? I see a resemblance." "Yes, we're twin brothers." "Brothers? You can't get married." "Why not? Aren't you giving marriage licenses to same gender couples?" "Yes, thousands. But we haven't had any siblings. That's incest!" "Incest? No, we are not gay." "Not gay? Then why do you want to get married?" "For the financial benefits, of course. And we do love each other. Besides, we don't have any other prospects." "But we're issuing marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples who've been denied equal protection under the law. If you are not gay, you can get married to a woman." "Wait a minute. A gay man has the same right to marry a woman as I have. But just because I'm straight doesn't mean I want to marry a woman. I want to marry Jim." "And I want to marry Tim. Are you going to discriminate against us just because we are not gay?" "All right, all right. I'll give you your license. Next." "Hi. We are here to get married." "Names?" "John Smith, Jane James, Robert Green, and June Johnson." "Who wants to marry whom?" "We all want to marry each other." "But there are four of you!" "That's right. You see, we're all bisexual. I love Jane and Robert, Jane loves me and June, June loves Robert and Jane, and Robert loves June and me. All of us getting married together is the only way that we can express our sexual preferences in a marital relationship." "But we've only been granting licenses to gay and lesbian couples." "So you're discriminating against bisexuals!" "No, it's just that, well, the traditional idea of marriage is that it's just for couples." "Since when are you standing on tradition?" "Well, I mean, you have to draw the line somewhere." "Who says? There's no logical reason to limit marriage to couples. The more the better. Besides, we demand our rights! The mayor says the constitution guarantees equal protection under the law. Give us a marriage license!" "All right, all right. Next." "Hello, I'd like a marriage license." "In what names?" "David Deets." "And the other man?" "That's all. I want to marry myself." "Marry yourself? What do you mean?" "Well, my psychiatrist says I have a dual personality, so I want to marry the two together. Maybe I can file a joint income-tax return." "That does it! I'm outta here! Mr. Mayor - I quit!!" +++ B. This CD provides the best solution to solve our marriage law crisis in the USA! You can also find this information on the IQ* Defend Morality Law and State Rights Page! +++ D. IQ* Save Family & Marriage Law Campaign Update Well, my Friend! Remember the list of pro-family organizations promoting the destructive Federal Marriage Amendment? I sent them all a copy of the Re-Taking America CD of the March 2, 2004 "The Federal Constitutional Marriage Amendment Is A Trojan Horse" Show! Please pray that they see the light! You will be SHOCKED to hear the information that Kelly McGinley provides on this CD! Did you know that 10 Commandments Chief Justice Roy Moore met with Dr. James Dobson, in person, to tell Jim that his promotion of the Federal Marriage Amendment would actually destroy marriage law in the USA? Do you know what Jim Dobson said?? He said that he can't do anything to stop Focus on the Family's promotion of the FMA because his "hands are tied!" What?? Dr. Dobson doesn't have free will? You'll learn that Dr. Dobson, as well as many other "pro-family" organizations who are pushing the destructive FMA are all members of a national advisory council. Hmmmmm. You've got to think hard when one of the most up-standing Christian judicial experts, Judge Moore, informs a Christian leader of his organization's mistake, and that leader says that he can't stop his own tank from crashing down the marriage law protection pillars of state law erected by our Christian Founding Fathers because his "hands are tied!" [http://www.morallaw.org/ - Judge Moore's Site] You've just gotta get this CD! Kelly's Re-Taking America is, for the most part, a radio equivalent if InfoQuest* for Truth. "Out- of-control judicial activism is actively persecuting religious believers and is driving all acknowledgement of God's authority in human affairs from our common, public lives," argues Keyes. What makes it so amazing, he says, is that "the film is so Marian." Gibson knows that Protestants don't regard Mary in the way Catholics do. And Gibson goes beyond many Catholics when he calls her "a tremendous co-redemptrix and mediatrix." (Christianity Today, March 2004) http://www.christianitytoday.com/movies/commentaries/passion-melmarymothers.html Many evangelical Christians rave about The Passion, even to the amazement of Mel Gibson, a Catholic who, contrary to Scripture, calls Mary "a tremendous co-redemptrix and mediatrix." Despite what the producer and director of The Passion says, this is what the Bible says: "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law; being made a curse for us: ..." Galatians 3:13 "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; ..." 1 Timothy 2:5 Christ is our only Redeemer and our only Mediator - there is no other. Rumors and half-truths always are pointed at Christians who take action for Jesus Christ. Randall and his wife are divorced. It happens. Divorce is not to be condoned or promoted, but it does happen. Here's is the page of the explanation: http://www.randallterry.com/home/index.cfm?page=14 Randall has served up to one year in federal prison for peacefully defending the right of the unborn children of our Loving God. Isn't King David written in the Bible as being a great servant of God? Did King David sin? Did David make any mistakes? How about having the husband of a woman killed in battle so that David could have sex with the man's wife? Randall did not do this, but he is being slandered as though he did! Please read the explanation at the URL above. Randall consulted his church leaders before, during, and after the divorce. Let us move on. Let us pray for Randall and his family and pray that Jesus continues to use Randall in great ways! OnlineArchive.org Use Permission Received Dear HSLDA members and friends: Yesterday the Pennsylvania House Education Committee passed House Bill 36 lowering the compulsory attendance age from eight to six. To lessen the adverse effects of this bill on homeschoolers, the Committee also passed an amendment exempting home educators from the proposed law so long as they notify the school district of their homeschooling. Specifically, the bill now states that when parents want to homeschool a child who is at least six but not yet eight, they must file a notice with the public school superintendent setting forth: "the name and address of such parent or guardian or other person having legal custody of the child; the child's name and age; and a statement that the child's education shall be provided for by such parent, guardian or other person having legal custody of the child." Thus, the net effect of this bill as it is now written is to increase state oversight of homeschooling parents by requiring notice to public school officials when a child becomes six years old. House Bill 36 now moves to the full House of Representatives for consideration. We urge you to contact your state representative and express your opposition to this bill expanding state oversight of education and increasing the reporting requirements for homeschoolers. REQUESTED ACTION 1. Please call your state representative with this message: "Please oppose House Bill 36. Expanding compulsory attendance would only waste taxpayers' money and take away the right of parents to determine when their children are ready for school." You do not need to identify yourself as a homeschooler. To find the name and telephone number of your representative, go to our legislative toolbox at http://www.hslda.org/toolbox For more information on this legislation, go to: http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?ID=1422 IQ* Talking Points: http://fp.users.fast.net/InfoQuest/education.htm#Stop_PA_HB1221
