Dear Friend, In today's edition of InfoQuest*, I'm sharing a happy Easter note from a member of the InfoQuest* family, Arlan. ------------------------- ------------------------- Hi all and Happy Easter! Yea, another Easter is upon us. I'm wishing you a very Happy Easter and hope that you can celebrate and exalt in the real joy of Easter, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The hope and reality of the Christian faith rests soley on the resurrection of Jesus. Disprove the resurrection, and you absolutely destroy the pillars, foundation and reason of the Christian faith. Without the cross of Jesus, there is no forgiveness. Without the resurrection, there is no hope of eternity. Worst, there is no proof that Jesus is who he claims to be. Then, Christians are the laughing stock of all peoples. Below I share references to several web sites. You can cut to the chase here or read on for topical references: http://www.ccci.org/whoisjesus/interactive-journey/ http://www.ccci.org/whoisjesus/ Several people have tried to disprove the Resurrection: For example, Lew Wallace, a famous general and literary genius, was a known atheist. For two years, Mr. Wallace studied in the leading libraries of Europe and America, seeking information that would forever destroy Christianity. While writing the second chapter of a book he planned to write, he suddenly found himself on his knees crying out to Jesus, "My Lord and my God!" Because of solid indisputable evidence, he could no longer deny that Jesus Christ was the Son of God. Later, Lew Wallace wrote the book Ben Hur, one of the greatest English novels ever written concerning the time of Christ. Did Jesus really resurrect? Simon Greenleaf, who was head of the Harvard Law School for some 30 years, was once challenged by his students to apply his "Laws of Legal Evidence" (which are still a standard reference for courts today) to an investigation of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. After a thorough study, Greenleaf concluded that Jesus' resurrection was supported by better and fuller evidence than any other event of antiquity, including the Battle of Waterloo. He wrote a book on his investigation called "The Testimony of The Four Evangelists," which is still available in most University legal libraries. http://www.gospelcom.net/rbc/rtb/8rsn/ http://www.ccci.org/whoisjesus/interactive-journey/muscled3.htm http://WWW.WND.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=22374 http://www.ccci.org/whoisjesus/risenfounder.html http://www.ccci.org/whoisjesus/reasons.html Of course the resurrection is the culmination of a life of miracles Jesus performed out of love, grace, mercy, and testimony that He is from the God the Father: http://www.ccci.org/whoisjesus/interactive-journey/muscle.htm Every person in every generation is forced to consider the reality of Jesus of Nazareth, the promised Jewish Messiah. Who is He? Is he a liar? Is he a lunatic? Or is he very God? http://www.ccci.org/whoisjesus/interactive-journey/claims.htm http://www.ccci.org/whoisjesus/lordliarlunatic.html Is Jesus really the One whose purpose of birth, life, death and resurrection was long foretold by the Hebrew prophets recorded in the Old Testament (Hebrew scriptures) completed some 400 years before Jesus? http://www.ccci.org/whoisjesus/interactive-journey/preview.htm http://www.ccci.org/whoisjesus/hiscoming.html The historical Jesus forever altered the history of the world. Consider His impact on the world: http://www.ccci.org/whoisjesus/interactive-journey/impact.htm http://www.ccci.org/whoisjesus/lifeandmessage.html Regardless of religious views and before casting off Jesus and Christianity as myth or just another man's view of god, one should first examine the authenticity and historical fact of the resurrection of Jesus, and the claims that Jesus made of Himself, including the claims made of Jesus by those who knew him intimately. Many of whom ultimately died a martyr's death for what they knew first hand to be true. Then, and only after then, should one decide to either confess Jesus as Lord and Savior, or walk away smirking at one of the greatest hoaxes of history. Begin the investigation here: http://www.ccci.org/whoisjesus/interactive-journey/study.htm http://www.ccci.org/whoisjesus/investigativestudy.html Perhaps one has questions if the Bible is really trustworthy? What seperates the Bible from other religious writings? Hasn't the Bible changed? What about translations? You mean the text I read today is the same as it was all those thousands of years ago? http://www.gospelcom.net/rbc/ds/q0402/ http://www.gospelcom.net/rbc/rtb/6rsn/ http://www.gospelcom.net/rbc/rtb/2rsn/ If you decide that there is only One Lord, One Savior, One God, and that Jesus is that Person, and in Him is forgiveness and eternal life, then you can start a personal relationship with Him today. http://www.ccci.org/wyltkgp/ http://www.ccci.org/whoisjesus/interactive-journey/you.htm Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship with Jesus http://www.gospelcom.net/rbc/rtb/3rsn/ I take the liberty to share this, not because I think I'm holier than thou, or better in anyway, but because I want to share the full joy and reason of Easter. Easter to me is the most joyous of the Christian observances because of its significance and meaning. It is why we celebrate Christmas. It is why we remember in gratitude the awesome event of His crucifixion on what is known as Good Friday. It is why our calender is designated B.C./A.D. The Easter proclamation of He Is RISEN, Risen Indeed, is the cause of that joy and our hope. For Jesus is the first fruit of the resurrection. All and everyone of us will experience the resurrection when Jesus returns. Unfortunately, some of us will resurrect unto an eternal life seperated in misery from God and those loved ones who, like others of us, will experience resurrection unto an eternal life of complete joy in the presence of Jesus. What one does with Jesus, determines their resurrection experience for all eternity. Go, celebrate Easter, for HE IS RISEN! Feel free to forward this to your family and friends. -arlan PS: Ten Reasons To Believe: http://www.gospelcom.net/rbc/rtb/ ------------------------- ------------------------- IQ* Note: One of the best resources that I've found that clearly proves the Resurrection of Jesus Christ to be true is "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel.
