Dear Friend, Did you grow up in a public school system? Or, did you believe everything your teachers told you? I did. They were the authority; I looked up to them (and not just because I was short). In order for anything to be real or have importance, it had to be supported by scientific tests or theories. In fact, theories were taught and presented to us as fact, although they were just theories, and these theories shape the thoughts and decisions of students, who grow and make decisions that affect themselves and others. I was close to death in a major auto accident in 1994. I was in the passenger seat, my friend who was driving fell asleep at the wheel. My head went through the passenger side window. The artery in my face was severed. I awoke in the hospital 6 AM Sunday in and out of consciousness. The physician told my parents that from the CAT scan and x-rays, there was a hematoma on my brain, my sinuses were crushed, and there would need to be rewiring of my facial structure. At 8AM my parents’ church prayed for me. At 9AM the reconstructive surgeon went into my face and head. It took 300 internal and external sutures to put my face back together. When he went into my face and head, my sinuses were not crushed, my facial structure was fully intact, and the next CAT scan showed the hematoma to be just a pin point. Today people can't tell that I was in an accident. I was somewhat of a "doubting Thomas" up until this point in my life. Since college, I've done more and more Christian research. Through my growth as a Christian, I've experienced Jesus through missionary work in the slums of Dublin, Ireland; Kensington-Phila, PA; Brooklyn, NY; and in the Phila suburbs. For this reason, I've dedicated my life to serving Jesus Christ by sharing the Truth that I've found from life experience and research, whenever I can. The following is published scientific research, as well as medical research published through Yale University, proving the existence of God. Once we realize that God Is, living for Him becomes our most important priority in life. I pray that God blesses you with wisdom and love. What does this belief do to the value of human life and the basis of morality? If you teach people they are nothing but evolved animals, then why shouldn't they live like animals? Isn't the rise in violence just "survival of the fittest"? Aren't the out-of-wedlock teen pregnancies and the sexually transmitted diseases, including AIDS, the logical result of man living as an animal, with no basis for morals? Aren't the 30 million babies aborted in America since Roe v. Wade simply the end product of a philosophy that offers no value for human life? It may not be politically correct to say these things, but they are the truth! The tragedy is that evolution is a nineteenth-century philosophy that has been destroyed by twentieth-century science. Yet the lie continues to be perpetrated, not on scientific grounds, but because it is what morally justifies our immoral society today. As one teacher of evolution told Ron a few years ago, "I know evolution is scientifically impossible, but I'm still going to teach it because it is morally comfortable." When asked what he meant by that he replied, 'As long as I believe I am nothing but an animal, I can live any way I choose. But as soon as I admit there is a Creator, then I become morally responsible to that Creator, and frankly, I don't want to be morally responsible to anyone!" Evolution begins and ends with a hopelessly illogical premise: Nothing plus chance equals everything! What created the matter and energy necessary to create the universe? The evolutionist has no scientific evidence, so he says, "You must assume by faith that somehow it occurred!" Spontaneous generation, or the idea that life came from nonliving matter, is postulated as to how life arose. The theory of evolution says that some 3.5 billion years ago there was a large inorganic soup of nitrogen, ammonia, salts, and carbon dioxide bubbling away. Out of this noxious caldron arose the first single-cell alga. From that came the rest of the spontaneous steps toward the age of computers. The problem, of course, is that the evolutionist has no answer as to where this bubbling, inorganic soup came from. They always say, "You must assume by faith that somehow it was there!" The major problem here is the scientific fallacy of spontaneous generation. Dr. George Wald, Professor Emeritus of Biology at Harvard University and winner of the Nobel Prize, wrote in Scientific American that spontaneous genera tion, the idea that life arose from nonliving matter, was scientifically disproved by Louis Pasteur in 1860. In Life: Origin and Evolution Wald added, "One has only to contemplate the magnitude of this task to concede that the spontaneous generation of a living organism is impossible." Biogenesis is the basic axiom of biology. Biogenesis means that life only arises from life. It does not come from nonliving matter! The evolutionist's response to this is, "Well, you must assume by faith that, contrary to the proven laws of biology, somehow it still occurred!" The Problem of Reproduction Another major problem for the evolutionists is Biochemical reproduction. Every cell (no matter how simple) in plants, animals, and human beings has what is called a "complex metabolic motor." This is the ability of the cell to extract energy from its environment in order to supply energy for the reproduction of the cell and other cell needs. For life to exist, you must have this metabolic motor. But this metabolic motor can only be produced by life! The riddle then becomes: "How, when no life existed, did substances come into being which are absolutely essential for life, but which can only be produced by life?" You have the same problem, for example, with DNA, deoxyribonucleic acid. DNA is the genetic code, formed in a double-helix strand, which determines the hereditary characteristics of a human being. DNA is absolutely essential for life to exist. But DNA can only be produced by life. How, when no life existed, did DNA come into existence? In an interesting sidelight, Time magazine published an article a few years ago about a DNA sampling of a cross section of women worldwide. The test covered women of all the major ethnic classifications. The article, titled Mother Eve, showed that the DNA characteristics of all the many women tested went back to one single woman! The Laws of Probability Another problem for the evolutionists is the laws of probability, which clearly and simply demonstrate that life from nonliving matter is impossible. As Sir Fred Hoyle, one of the world's leading astronomers and mathematicians, recently said before the British Academy of Science: "The probability of life arising by chance is the same probability as throwing a six on a dice five million consecutive times." Try that sometime! He then went on to add, "Let's be scientifically honest. We all know that the probability of life arising to greater and greater complexity and organization by chance through evolution is the same probability as having a tornado tear through a junkyard and form out the other end a Boeing 747 jetliner!" Random impersonal chance does not produce complexity and organization, only greater chaos. Again, the response of the evolutionist to this is, "Well, we must assume by faith that, contrary to the mathematical laws of probability, somehow it occurred!" Opposing the Second Law Another major problem is that evolution assumes a gradual upward progression, that things supposedly have evolved from chaos and simplicity to greater and greater complexity and organization-all by chance. The problem is that in this universe we live in, the opposite actually occurs in every single case, according to the laws of physics. All energy and matter are governed by the laws of thermodynamics. The second law of thermodynamics states that everything in the universe is going from a state of organization and complexity and is running downward, or degenerating toward chaos and disorganization. This is known as the problem of entropy. One only needs to walk through an auto junkyard to see this law in action. No Rolls Royces are rolling out the back gate. The autos rust apart and soon blend with the dust of the ground. The fact that no one can build a perpetual-motion machine demonstrates entropy. Everything loses energy and eventually runs out of energy. Things do not move upward to complexity; instead, things tend to run down. To illustrate further, take that brand-new Rolls Royce like the one we looked for in the junkyard and park it in the woods or mountains and leave it there for five or ten years. What will happen to it? If it is not stolen, the car over time will look like every other car in that junkyard. Like every other physical thing on this earth, it will decay and eventually break down, whether it is a tree or a skyscraper. It will never go upward to greater complexity. If you have a teenage son or daughter you can test the second law of thermodynamics right in your own home. Just clean their room nice and neat and leave it for a week. You will see entropy at work! The fact of entropy presents a terrible problem for evolutionists. Some evolutionists have tried to offer solutions like: "We have renewable energy coming from the sun." But random energy never produces organization. In fact, the laws of physics show that it speeds up the process of entropy. Energy does not produce organization or complexity. The energy created at the world's great hydroelectric dams eventually tear up the systems that create our power. Man must continually repair the facilities and the electric systems. To illustrate, let's say you have a car at the bottom of a mountain. You want to get the car up the mountain. What do you need? You say "energy." So you fill the gas tank with gasoline "energy." Is the car going up the mountain? No. What is wrong? You need a complex mechanism, known as an engine, to transform random energy into the kinetic energy that is useful for work. But where do you get this complex mechanism? Even if you assume that you have the engine, as the car goes up the mountain it will drive over a cliff. Why? Because it needs a complex system of controls to steer the car. Where does this complex system come from? Obviously, just having energy does not solve the problem. This is similar to how plants grow. Energy from sunlight is necessary for plants to grow, but the sun's random energy is not enough. Plants must have a complex mechanism, known as photosynthesis, to produce the chlorophyll necessary for the plants' life. Assuming by Misplaced Faith The final question we must ask is, How, when no life existed, did these complex mechanisms (such as photosynthesis) which are absolutely essential for life come into existence, since they can only be produced by life? The evolutionist has no logical answer, so again he must say, You must assume by faith that, contrary to the known laws of physics, somehow it occurred!" Some evolutionists, such as astronomer Carl Sagan, offer vast time periods as the answer to the dilemma of complexity in nature. They believe that chance plus time will generate increased complexity. So they regularly add more millions or billions of years to their evolutionary hypotheses. But the laws of physics state, "The greater the time span the greater the chaos and disorganization!" Things just do not evolve upward as evolution requires. To illustrate the above, take an airplane up to 5000 feet and have 100,000 three-by-five cards neatly stacked in it. The theory of evolution would assume that, given enough opportunity, those cards could be dropped out the window and randomly sort and select themselves to spell out "the United States of America" on the ground. You say, "That's ridiculous-they will be flying all over the ground." Of course it's ridiculous; this is entropy in quick action. Things regress from organization to chaos. So the evolutionist says, "What you need is a greater time span to allow for organization and complexity to take place." But this is like saying that instead of flying at 5000 feet, we'll now take the airplane up to 25,000 feet. Now when we drop those three-by-five cards they will have a greater time span in which to randomly sort and select themselves to spell out "the United States of America" on the ground! What is going to happen? Remember, it is a basic law of physics that the greater the time span the greater the chaos and disorganization. The cards would be spread over ten times the geography. Every time the evolutionist adds a few more million years to his hypothesis, he is simply hammering another nail into his own coffin! The Truth About the Fossil Record Another major problem for evolutionists is the fossil record. Charles Darwin believed that if evolution were true we would find the evidence in the fossil record. He predicted that the geological strata would reveal a gradual upward evolution of species to greater and greater complexity. Newsweek magazine of March 29, 1982, had a cover story entitled "Mysteries of Evolution." It contained the following admission: "... a professional embarrassment for paleontologists: their inability to find the fossils of transitional forms between species, the so-called "missing link." Darwin, and most of those who followed him, believed that the work of evolution was slow, gradual and continuous and that a complete lineage of ancestors, shading imperceptibly one into the next, could in theory be reconstructed for all living animals. In practice, Darwin conceded, the fossil record was much too spotty to demonstrate those gradual changes, though he was confident that they would eventually turn up. But a century of digging since then has only made their absence more glaring. Paleontologists have devoted whole careers to looking for examples of gradual transitions over time, and with a few exceptions they have failed. What we find in the fossil record is all species fully formed with no transitional intermediates or missing links! If evolution were true, we should be finding literally millions of transitional forms or "missing links" from one species to the next. Instead we find none! Rather, everything is "after its own kind." As Dr. Duane Gish, who received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of California at Berkeley, pointed out in Acts and Facts (published by the Institute of Creation Research, El Cajon, CA): The fossil record shows the sudden appearance, fully formed, of all the complex invertebrates (snails, clams, jellyfish, sponges, worms, sea urchins, brachiopods, and trilobites) without a trace of ancestors. He goes on to add: "The fossil record also shows the sudden appearance, fully formed, of every major kind of fish (supposedly the first vertebrates) without a trace of ancestors. This proves beyond a reasonable doubt that evolution has not occurred. If evolution has occurred, our museums should contain thousands of fossils of intermediate forms. However, not a trace of an ancestor or transitional form has ever been found for any of these creatures!" To sum up: we have never observed evolution in the fossil record and we have never observed evolution in the natural world. Evolution is a theory that exists only in the imaginations of evolutionists! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INFORMATION REGARDING FOSSILS Proven falsities of theories behind and/or the actual existence of Archaeopteryx, pro-avis, punctuated equilibrium, Nebraska Man (Hesperopithecus haroldcookii), Java Man (Pithecanthropus erectus), Piltdown Man (Eoanthropus dawsoni), and Peking Man are documented in "The Face that Demonstrates the Farce of Evolution," by Hank Hanegraaff. Emergency gunshot wound, and no aid Message-ID: The following is an abstract of the article which I referred to earlier concerning the effect of prayer on healing: South Med J 1988 Jul;81(7):826-9 Positive therapeutic effects of intercessory prayer in a coronary care unit population. Byrd RC Medical Service, San Francisco General Medical Center, CA. The therapeutic effects of intercessory prayer (IP) to the Judeo-Christian God, one of the oldest forms of therapy, has had little attention in the medical literature. To evaluate the effects of IP in a coronary care unit (CCU) population, a prospective randomized double-blind protocol was followed. Over ten months, 393 patients admitted to the CCU were randomized, after signing informed consent, to an intercessory prayer group (192 patients) or to a control group (201 patients). While hospitalized, the first group received IP by participating Christians praying outside the hospital; the control group did not. At entry, chi-square and stepwise logistic analysis revealed no statistical difference between the groups. After entry, all patients had follow-up for the remainder of the admission. The IP group subsequently had a significantly lower severity score based on the hospital course after entry (P less than .01). Multivariant analysis separated the groups on the basis of the outcome variables (P less than .0001). The control patients required ventilatory assistance, antibiotics, and diuretics more frequently than patients in the IP group. These data suggest that intercessory prayer to the Judeo-Christian God has a beneficial therapeutic effect in patients admitted to a CCU.
