As you know, a woman from my church, Gale, who has cancer, who has 11 children, recently had a C-Section, giving birth to her 11th child, 2 lbs. 10 ozs. Andrew. Please continue to pray for Gale, her husband Ed, and their children. Please pray for Kelly McGinley's sister, Vicky, who is dying from lung cancer. Kelly McGinley had a web page created to educate us all on health issues and natural remedies for cancer and other diseases: http://www.retakingamerica.com/health_page_main.html ==================== ==================== (2) Jonathan's Question! OnlineArchive.org Use Permission Received I recently celebrated my son's first birthday with close friends and family. During the party, one of my oldest-known best friends, Jonathan (I have one other oldest-known best friend from when I was about 5, who is a tie with Jonathan when it comes to friendship length - Jonathan's twin brother!) asked my Dad if my Dad will vote for me. The same knee-jerk answer came from him that I've heard my whole life, "I don't really want to waste my vote on a third party [directed at Jonathan]. You should really run on the Republican ticket [directed at me]." I then asked my Dad why he would vote for my competition, a pro-abortion, pro-homosexual activist, pro-gambling, porn-money accepting Republican. He then back-peddled and said that he would vote for me. Have you experienced "persecution" for standing up for the Truth? It reminds me of John 4:44, "For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honor in his own country." Even if your own family doesn't always support your fight for Truth, never give up! The Founding Fathers of the U.S.A. knew that they were greatly outnumbered by the British Empire's military, yet did they say that they were wasting their vote by signing the Declaration of Independence? NO! Always remember that! When God is with you, all things are possible! "And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary." Galatians 6:9 ==================== ==================== (3) GOP True Colors & CP Solution! OnlineArchive.org Use Permission Received Dear Friend, Why do I care about politics as a Christian? The reason is seen with Elijah in I Kings. After Elijah won his confrontation with the prophets of Baal, he complained to God, "There's no one else in the nation who believes in You." And God responded, "There are 7,000 men left in this nation - men of integrity, righteous men, men who do love Me….." Ahab and Jezebel were the nation's wicked leaders. Because of their wickedness, the entire nation, including 7,000 righteous men, went without rain for 3.5 years. Pro-Abortion Arlen Specter received the endorsement of so-called "pro-life" poster boy Rick Santorum in Specter's race against "pro-life" Pat Toomey. "He also backed controversial White House judicial recess appointments despite criticizing the process in the past, and leaned on the endorsement of Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa., one of the Senate's leading conservatives." http://news.findlaw.com/ap_stories/a/p/1132/4-28-2004/20040428071503_26.html As you know, Bush, Santorum, and Toomey are actually all pro-abortion: http://fp.users.fast.net/InfoQuest/abortion.htm#Republican_Abortion_Party Here's another sad bit of information sent to me about the Republican Party, which slams not only Republicans, but "Christians." I'm not perfect, and I'm not saying that anyone but Jesus is; however, this information does present an issue: OnlineArchive.org Use Permission Received Saviors of the institution of marriage: Ronald Reagan - divorced the mother of two of his children to marry Nancy Reagan who bore him a daughter only 7 months after the marriage. Bob Dole - divorced the mother of his child, who had nursed him through the long recovery from his war wounds. Newt Gingrich - divorced his wife who was dying of cancer. Dick Armey - House Majority Leader - divorced Sen. Phil Gramm of Texas - divorced Gov. John Engler of Michigan - divorced Gov. Pete Wilson of California - divorced George Will - divorced Sen. Lauch Faircloth - divorced Rush Limbaugh - Rush and his current wife Marta have six marriages and four divorces between them. Rep. Bob Barr of Georgia - Barr, not yet 50 years old, has been married three times. Barr had the audacity to author and push the "Defense of Marriage Act." The current joke making the rounds on Capitol Hill is "Bob Barr...WHICH marriage are you defending?!? Sen. Alfonse D'Amato of New York - divorced Sen. John Warner of Virginia - divorced (once married to Liz Taylor.) Gov. George Allen of Virginia - divorced Henry Kissinger - divorced Rep. Helen Chenoweth of Idaho - divorced Rep. John Kasich of Ohio - divorced Rep. Susan Molinari of New York - Repub National Convention Keynote Speaker - divorced MORAL: We don't need to worry about homosexuals destroying the institution of marriage. The Christian Republicans are doing a fine job all by themselves, without anyone's help. OUCH! That hurts! Bill Clinton's friends always tried to say that what an elected leader does in his "private life" has no reaching affect on what he does in office. We, of course, know that this statement is false. Where can we go to set the bar higher? When the Republican Party, for the most part, does not follow its own platform, what are we to do? Good News: OnlineArchive.org Use Permission Received 04/27/2004 Michael Peroutka Invites Chuck Baldwin To Be His Running Mate http://www.constitutionparty.com/news.php?aid=98 by Chuck Baldwin Founder and Pastor of Crossroad Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida, Commentator, and Host of the Chuck Baldwin Live Radio Show http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com Constitution Party presidential candidate Michael Peroutka will officially and publicly invite yours truly to be his Vice Presidential running mate during a special ceremony in Pensacola, Florida, this Sunday, May 2, 2004. The event will take place at the facilities of Crossroad Baptist Church, 6800 Mobile Highway (U.S. Hwy. 90), at 6:00 pm CST. A special celebration banquet will accompany the proceedings. Regular readers of this column know my feelings regarding the dismal track record of the national Republican Party to faithfully represent Christian, conservative, constitutional principles. I firmly believe that until the American people awaken to the futility of supporting the national Republican Party, conservative principles will never be promoted or defended in Washington, D.C. It is also my belief that the best alternative to the Republican Party at the national level is the Constitution Party (formerly known as the U.S. Taxpayers Party). Nationwide, the Constitution Party has the third largest number of registered members behind only the two major parties. Furthermore, the Constitution Party will likely be on the ballot in over 40 states during the general election this November. That means that it is theoretically possible for a Constitution Party presidential nominee to actually obtain enough electoral votes to win the November election. Beyond that, the Constitution Party stands solidly and uncompromisingly for the values and principles I believe in. It is the only national party that is unashamed and unafraid to represent conservative, constitutional government. Accordingly, I proudly changed my voter registration from the Republican Party to the Constitution Party. At the same time, I must candidly admit that never in my wildest imagination did I expect the presumptive Constitution Party presidential nominee, Michael Peroutka, to ask me to join him on his ticket. To be perfectly honest, his invitation caught me totally off guard. It was not something I sought or anticipated. However, after much deliberation, prayer, and counsel, I have decided to accept Michael's invitation. I will be proud to promote and represent Michael Peroutka and the Constitution Party to the voters of America for this year's presidential election. I have known Michael for several years, and count him a dear friend. I believe him to be a man of great integrity, unflinching courage, and deep humility. He would be a terrific president! It would be our privilege to be able to meet as many friends and supporters as possible at the upcoming announcement celebration this Sunday, May 2, in Pensacola, Florida. If you are able to join us, please come! For any additional information, please call my office at 850-944- 3544 or email my administrative assistant, Patti Sheffield, at patti@crossroadbaptist.net. The fax number at my office is 850- 944-0577. If you have not already done so, please visit Michael's web site at http://www.peroutka2004.com. Michael and I covet your prayers. More Good News: 100% Pro-Life Clymer vs. Abortionist Arlen Specter in November 2004!!! The Clymer factor http://lancasteronline.com/pages/news/local/6364 Lancaster attorney Jim Clymer was in the audience. The Constitution Party national chairman has pledged to run for Senate if Specter beats Toomey. One of the Republicans in attendance, committeeman Dale Murray of Mount Joy, raised the Clymer factor to rebut Specter's argument that Toomey can't win statewide in the fall. "How many passionate Toomey supporters are going to hold their noses in the fall and vote for Specter?" Murray asked. His answer: Not many. "They'll stay home, or they'll vote for Jim," Murray concluded. ==================== ==================== (4) Grass Looney! OnlineArchive.org Use Permission Received I've heard that some people mow their lawns twice a week! There's nothing wrong with mowing lawns and yard work, of course. Here's a joke that I share every year. Every so often I try to think of where I spend my time. How much is spent with Jesus? Sharing His Truth and Love? With my family? With my hobbies? With work? Ever think about this? LAWNS Imagine the conversation The Creator might have had with Boaz on the subject of lawns: GOD: Boaz, you know all about gardens and nature. What in the world is going on down there? What happened to the dandelions, violets, thistle and stuff I started eons ago? I had a perfect, no-maintenance garden plan. Those plants grow in any type of soil, withstand drought and multiply with abandon. The nectar from the long lasting blossoms attracts butterflies, honey bees and flocks of songbirds. I expected to see a vast garden of colors by now. But all I see are these green rectangles. BOAZ: It's the tribes that settled there, Lord. The Suburbanites. They started calling your flowers "weeds" and went to great lengths to kill them and replace them with grass. GOD: Grass? But it's so boring. It's not colorful. It doesn't attract butterflies, birds and bees, only grubs and sod worms. It's temperamental with temperatures. Do these Suburbanites really want all that grass growing there? BOAZ: Apparently so, Lord. They go to great pains to grow it and keep it green. They begin each spring by fertilizing grass and poisoning any other plant that crops up in the lawn. GOD: The spring rains and warm weather probably make grass grow really fast. That must make the Suburbanites happy. BOAZ: Apparently not, Lord. As soon as it grows a little, they cut it -- sometimes twice a week. GOD: They cut it? Do they then bale it like hay? BOAZ: Not exactly, Lord. Most of them rake it up and put it in bags. GOD: They bag it? Why? Is it a cash crop? Do they sell it? BOAZ: No Sir. Just the opposite. They pay to throw it away. GOD: Now let me get this straight. They fertilize grass so it will grow. And when it does grow, they cut it off and pay to throw it away? BOAZ: Yes, Sir. GOD: These Suburbanites must be relieved in the summer when we cut back on the rain and turn up the heat. That surely slows the growth and saves them a lot of work. BOAZ: You aren't going to believe this Lord. When the grass stops growing so fast, they drag out hoses and pay more money to water it so they can continue to mow it and pay to get rid of it. GOD: What nonsense. At least they kept some of the trees. That was a sheer stroke of genius, if I do say so myself. The trees grow leaves in the spring to provide beauty and shade in the summer. In the autumn they fall to the ground and form a natural blanket to keep moisture in the soil and protect the trees and bushes. Plus, as they rot, the leaves form compost to enhance the soil. It's a natural circle of life. BOAZ: You better sit down, Lord. The Suburbanites have drawn a new circle. As soon as the leaves fall, they rake them into great piles and pay to have them hauled away. GOD: No. What do they do to protect the shrub and tree roots in the winter and to keep the soil moist and loose? BOAZ: After throwing away the leaves, they go out and buy something which they call mulch. They haul it home and spread it around in place of the leaves. GOD: And where do they get this mulch? BOAZ: They cut down trees and grind them up to make the mulch. GOD: Enough. I don't want to think about this anymore. Angel, you're in charge of the arts. What movie have they scheduled for us tonight?" Angel: "Dumb and Dumber", Lord. It's a really stupid movie about..... GOD: Never mind, I think I just heard the whole story from Boaz.
