I flew out to Appleton, Wisconsin for the 45th Anniversary of The John Birch Society. http://www.jbs.org/ John Birch was a Christian Missionary who was murdered by the Communist Chinese in World War II. I'll tell you more about my trip below, at Brown EGGS and VIKING Ships! ==================== ==================== (2) Brother Bear?! While I was listening to my local Christian radio talk station, 560 WFIL (Mark Daniels Live), Mark was speaking with the Director of www.MovieGuide.org, who warned parents against taking their young children to see the new Disney movie, Brother Bear. Brother Bear teaches animism. Animism is an occult religion. When taking our kids to the movies, I ask myself a simple question that you've heard before, "What would Jesus do?" The answer's in the Bible. Learn about the occult and how it is being marketed to you and your children in very deceptive ways at the InfoQuest* Occult page. When it comes to Disney, I've documented my findings on this organization on the InfoQuest* Boycotts page. ==================== ==================== (3) "Innocents Betrayed" Video! AgapePress.org News Brief ...The head of Gun Owners of America is warning conservatives of the consequences of banning firearms from law-abiding citizens. GOA's executive director, Larry Pratt, says Americans have only to look at what has happened in England to see where their own country could be heading. Pratt is taking part in a series of conferences called "Direction in an Age of Confusion." At a recent stop in Memphis, Tennessee, the Second Amendment advocate told a gathering of conservatives that if the anti-gun crowd has its way, America could end up like England, where a decades-old gun ban has resulted in a skyrocketing crime rate. Pratt recounts an incident in England that he considers outrageous: a burglar was actually given government money in order to sue a man who shot him while he was trying to burglarize the man's home. Pratt feels the mass increase in violent crime is not surprising in a nation where, when law-abiding citizens use guns to protect themselves from would-be robbers, they are made to pay. He says those English citizens that "have been so unwise as to try and save their lives with a gun have been put in jail." Pratt warns that Americans should not think they are immune to such outrages. "Don't think that it's the Brits that are crazy only," he says, "because we have the same laws in Washington, DC." [Chad Groening] What happens when self-defense is against the law? In just 58 minutes, "Innocents Betrayed" opens eyes, shatters myths, changes minds -- and can save lives. This is a must-see, must-share film. Including footage supplied by GOA, it's the factual counterpoint to Michael Moore's infamous "Bowling for Columbine." This fast-moving, made-for-TV documentary from JPFO shows how victim disarmament policies led to: * Genocide in Russia, China, Germany, Cambodia, Uganda, Rwanda and more -- up to 170,000,000 lives destroyed. * Persecution, mass murder, slavery, and terrorist attacks in the United States. For a limited time, you can get free shipping plus three Freedom booklets with each order -- and a portion of the proceeds will go towards supporting GOA. Please see http://www.gunowners.org/jpfoib.htm for details. IQ* Note: I ordered my DVD copy yesterday! For more information on self-defense, go to the InfoQuest* Civil Defense page! ==================== ==================== (4) The BEST Spam Solution! The AFA, in partnership with technology company Vern Six & Associates, has created a new product that will completely eliminate all spam, unsolicited and pornographic e-mail from ever reaching your computer. This is not a filter, as filters can be easily bypassed by shrewd pornographers. This is a new technology that will stop the message from ever reaching your computer. This technology also gives us the tools to collect data on who and where this material comes from so that we can help legislators create real laws to stop and prosecute those that continue to produce this evil. This is also a perfect resource for businesses, schools, and churches that want to protect their network against pornographic and other spam e-mails. WE NEED YOUR HELP IN THE FIGHT! I encourage you to take a close look at this new weapon, and protect your home from these attacks. You can find all the information at www.spamrival.com. Not only will you be protecting your family, you will be giving us valuable resources to fight this war. IQ* Note: I received this news from the AFA today. After I send you this edition of IQ*, I'm getting this service for my family. If you e-mail me on or after October 24, you'll receive an e-mail asking you to fill out a short online form so that your e-mail address is added to my family's safe list. Thanks! ==================== ==================== (5) Solution to CBS Attacking Homeschoolers! Last week, we learned how CBS attacked the homeschool community with false accusations. See http://www.hslda.org/ . This should not be a surprise for long-time members of our InfoQuest* family! If you haven't done so already, I implore you to get this video: ==================== ==================== (6) RWU Summer Camps & University! Have you checked out the Robert Welch University and Summer Camps? RWU Robert Welch University will provide an education centered on Americanist principles. Using both classroom and online curricula rooted in the cultural and moral traditions of the founding era, RWU will educate men and women capable of leading America back to limited, constitutional government. RWU SUMMER CAMP During America’s founding era, people valued virtues and principles such as honesty, integrity, industry, limited government, and independence. These virtues and principles, sometimes called “Americanism,” were once taught in every schoolhouse and campus in America. Today youth around the nation are still learning about the core principles of Americanism while having the time of their life at RWU Summer Camps. ==================== ==================== (7) Save U.S. Morality & State Rights Update! Our campaign to educate state and national pro-family groups is beginning to show results! I received a letter from Richard M. Norris, Correspondence Assistant to Dr. Dobson, on October 6, 2003 in reply to my letter that I sent Dr. Dobson, which had the article enclosed, "Constitutional Trojan Horse." From Richard's reply, I could see that he did carefully read my letter. He said that he was incorporating it into the report that is given to Dr. Dobson, which he said, sometimes makes Dr. Dobson change strategies. We shall see. Albert Moore of Lehigh Valley Citizens for Traditional Values wrote back in agreement with my analysis, which is shared by the John Birch Society and the Institute on the Constitution. Randall Terry, who is the organizer for Terry Schiavo's parents and family for the vigils and press conferences, has also agreed and shown interest in the truth disclosed in Constitutional Trojan Horse, by George Detweiler. Don Thomson of Christian Coalition of Westmoreland County of Pennsylvania agrees with the truth in the danger of Federalizing Morality Law! The following appeared in "The Westmoreland Watchman - A Publication of The Westmoreland County Christian Coalition," Volume 8, Number 9, October, 2003: "At the same time, other conservatives are stating that we shouldn't travel the amendment route but just have Congress enforce the Constitution. Both sides have legitimate arguments, but it is paramount that we understand that all federal courts, except the Supreme Court, were created by Congress under the Constitution's Article III, Section I. Therefore, Congress can limit, or withdraw jurisdiction from them, and under Section II, Congress can create 'exceptions' to Supreme Court jurisdiction. With the Senate Democrats currently holding up many of President Bush's judicial nominations, it should be a key campaign issue in 2004 that Congress take control of the judiciary and remove these moral areas from their pathetic decisions until more jurists instead of activists are installed." Isn't it time that we group together to do the right thing - make our representatives enforce the Federal Constitution, which is not broken, and does not need amending. The facts are in. The truth is here. I have faith in our network of friends that we'll do the right thing. I have personally mailed 42 "Save State Rights and Preserve U.S.A. Morality Law" information packets, containing the enclosures described above (letter from Focus on the Family, a copy of The Westmoreland Watchman, etc.) to state And national pro-family, Christian, and legal organizations. Are you led to help preserve morality law in the U.S.A. by protecting state rights? If so, I beseech you to follow the Action Steps: http://fp.users.fast.net/InfoQuest/government.htm#Federal_Marriage_Amendment Thank you, my friend, and Godspeed! Here are the references: Constitutional Trojan Horse, by George Detweiler http://www.thenewamerican.com/tna/2002/07-29-2002/vo18no15_constitution.htm InfoQuest* Action Alert http://fp.users.fast.net/InfoQuest/government.htm#Federal_Marriage_Amendment ==================== ==================== (8) New Online Petition! Thanks to a massive public outcry, generated in part by the petition you signed, the Florida Legislature and Gov. Jeb Bush acted in time to temporarily save the life of Terri Schindler Schiavo, the disabled woman on the brink of death by court-ordered dehydration and starvation. Here's where to review the original petition: http://www.conservativepetitions.com/petitions.php?id=236 With Terri's time running out as she entered her sixth day without a feeding tube, the Senate passed "Terri"s Bill" to create a 15-day reprieve during which the governor can issue a one-time stay of court orders. Schiavo's feeding tube had been removed Oct. 15 over her parents' and siblings' objections, as her unfaithful husband, Michael Schiavo, continued his court-backed commitment to kill her. He and his lawyer, euthanasia advocate George Felos, immediately filed a temporary restraining order. "Terri's Bill" isn't the answer! A reprieve in the nick of time, yes, but it's not the victory she needs. Terri's life still is very much in jeopardy. You can continue to help save this courageous woman by alerting even more people than before to her dire situation. Direct them to act at: http://www.conservativepetitions.com/petitions.php?id=236 Thanks to you and your effort, Gov. Bush was able to act, allowing Terri to immediately be moved to a hospital from the hospice where she's been kept the past several months. She now is reconnected to a tube for sustenance while her case is decided. But now is not the time to relax. Even more pressure needs to be applied to Gov. Bush and Attorney General Charlie Crist to do everything in the power of their offices to find a real and permanent way to spare her life. Here again is where to keep the public outcry growing even louder: http://www.conservativepetitions.com/petitions.php?id=236 Randall Terry Founder, Operation Rescue President, Society for Truth and Justice P.S. I want to thank all who participated in the vigil outside the hospice and at the Capital. And I know Terri and her family appreciate everyone who prayed on her behalf. You have stood in the gap not just for Terri but for all disabled people who now are or soon will be in unmerciful hands. You know one day it could be you or your loved one having a feeding tube removed by a tyrannical court. Please keep the faith at: http://www.conservativepetitions.com/petitions.php?id=236 ==================== ==================== (9) Brown EGGS and VIKING Ships! Is your interest peaked? What on earth do brown eggs and Viking ships have to do with each other? Nothing. Unless, Vikings ate brown eggs on their voyages, I guess they'd have to be pickled, but I have no idea. I wanted to share some interesting facts that I learned from my John Birch Society Chapter Leader, Al, during our trip (talks on the train, plane, automobile). Al learned how to be a butcher from his dad, and he knows some good information on livestock, etc., although he wasn't a butcher, but that's beside the point. Anyway, I learned that brown eggs are laid by red-feathered chickens (award for the first person who sends me back the name of these chickens!). These chickens only lay eggs when they are permitted to run free. They won't lay eggs if they're caged. Since they run free, they not only eat the grain that is fed to them, but they ALSO eat natural food that they find in the soil. This makes their egg product (their brown eggs) better for you, and they have a richer colored yolk. Because of this non-caged environment, brown eggs won't give you salmonella poisoning. I looked up brown eggs vs. white on Google, and some reports say that there's no difference in nutrition. My take is that, if brown is better, and it was advertised that way, the egg business would take a hit. Eating more natural foods, in my mind, would produce a better product (egg). Is this common sense? What do you know about the brown egg theory??? And, what about VIKING ships? Well, Al's been to the Netherlands, where Viking ships are still being found and dug up! He visited a museum and was amazed that the ships, when they're found, are as good as new! The wood is perfectly preserved! He asked why. Vikings would wait for a certain time of the year and cut all of the branches off of the trees that they would use to build their ships. The sap would run up the tree to create a protective coating on the cuts. After a certain period of time, the Vikings knew that the tree was filled with sap. That's when they'd cut down the tree. After they shaped/cut the trees for the ships, the sap would be hardening throughout the wood, turning it almost into petrified wood! Nature's way of process improvement! These days, wood is cut down too fast and chemicals are used for preservatives. Treated wood is toxic to children. Nature's way seems the best. Al lives in a farm house that's over 100 years old. The beams in his home are the same way as the Viking wood. It's not possible to drive a nail into the beams because the same process was used. He has to drill a hole through the beam to get a nail into it. Do you have any interesting stories/facts like these that you'd like to share? ==================== ==================== (10) Pennsylvania Legislation Alerts! http://fp.users.fast.net/InfoQuest/government.htm#Alerts_Pennsylvania Time is Running Out for Pennsylvania Citizens! It had been a while since I had brushed up on the Mormon religion, so I asked questions until the father contradicted himself and could not provide sensible answers. I will be following up with him. Here is a reprint of "Mormonism - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" (11/14/00), one of several articles on Mormonism that you can read on the InfoQuest* Newsletter Archive Page! Hi! Are you familiar with Mormonism? Today, it goes by the name, "the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints." I wasn't very familiar with it until I read the following article, which uses the Jewish Tenakh (the Christian Old Testament) and the New Testament of the Bible to evaluate Mormonism. After this article is another that documents the total lacking of archeological proof for Mormonism compared to the plethora of archeological proof for the New Testament. Following this archeology article is a shortened letter from Hank Hanegraaff, President of the Christian Research Institute. I found the following information through the Christian Research Institute. You can click the URL below and go to its search tool, which will enable you to enter "Mormon" or any other term for free articles and information. http://www.equip.org/search/ The information provided below is a tool, offered not in hatred, but in love. The hope of the Christian Research Institute is for you to use this tool to protect yourself and to reach out to those confused by Mormon teaching. The following is a comparison, using Teachings of Mormonism and Teachings of the Tenakh and the New Testament (the Bible), to discuss these three topics: "About God," "About Salvation," and "About Mormonism." Each topic will be answered first, by Teachings of Mormonism, and then, by Teachings of the Bible. -------------------------------------- ABOUT GOD - MORMONISM There are many Gods. God the Father was once a man who evolved to become God. Mormons can become gods like Him. "God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man." Joseph Smith, founder of Mormonism and regarded as an inspired prophet. "Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp. 346-347 "You have got to learn to become Gods yourselves… the same as all Gods have done before you." Joseph Smith, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp. 346-347 "As man is, God once was; as God is, man may become." Lorenzo Snow, fifth president of the Mormon Church --------------------------------------- ABOUT GOD - THE BIBLE There is only one God. He has always been, and will always be the only God. "Before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me." Isaiah 43:10-11 "For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens... I am the Lord; and there is none else." Isaiah 45:18 "I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.... Is there a God beside me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any." Isaiah 44:6,8 ---------------------------------------- ABOUT SALVATION - MORMONISM Eternal life is available only to those who obey the complexities of Mormon doctrine perfectly. "To be exalted one must keep the whole law.... To receive the exaltation of the righteous, in other words eternal life, the commandments of the Lord must be kept in all things." Joseph Smith, "Doctrines of Salvation, II, pp. 302-3 "We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances." "Articles of Faith," p. 479 "Complete forgiveness is reserved for those only who... keep all of his [God's] commandments..... In the final analysis, men are not saved unless they have struggled and labored... to the point that they stand clean and spotless." Bruce McConkie, Mormon scholar, "Mormon Doctrine," pp. 295, 298 ---------------------------------------------- ABOUT SALVATION - THE BIBLE Eternal life is obtained through faith alone in Christ based only on His work, not ours. "But God... made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.... For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:4-9 "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us." Titus 3:5 "But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." Romans 4:5 "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life: but the wrath of God abideth on him." John: 3:36 --------------------------------------------------- ABOUT MORMONISM - MORMONISM Joseph Smith was a prophet of God who restored true Christianity in 1820. His teachings must be obeyed. "Joseph, then 14.5 years of age, beheld the glory of the Father and the Son. Thereafter Moroni [an angel] visited him; other messengers came; revelations in great number were showered upon him." Mormon Doctrine, p. 396 "Give heed to all his words and commandments." "Doctrines and Covenants" 21:4-5 ----------------------------------------------------- ABOUT MORMONISM - THE BIBLE "If there arise among you a prophet; and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods.... Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God." Deuteronomy 13:1-2,5 "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." Galatians 1:8 "For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus; another gospel; such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel, for Satan is transformed into an angel of light." 2 Corinthians 11:3-4, 13-14 --------------------------------------------------------------- ARCHEOLOGICAL PROOF AND DISPROOF The following information is taken from "The Case for Christ", pgs. 143-144, by Lee Strobel, which can be obtained through the Christian Research Institute at http://www.equip.org or (949) 858-6100 or any Christian bookstore. "Archaeology's repeated affirmation of the New Testament's accuracy provides important corroboration for its reliability. This is in stark contrast with how archaeology has proved to be devastating for Mormonism. Although Joseph Smith, the founder of the Mormon church, claimed that his Book of Mormon is "the most correct of any book upon the earth," archaeology has repeatedly failed to substantiate its claims about events that supposedly occurred long ago in the Americas. I remember writing to the Smithsonian Institute to inquire about whether there was any evidence supporting the claims of Mormonism, only to be told in unequivocal terms that its archaeologists see "no direct connection between the archaeology of the New World and the subject matter of the book." As authors John Ankerberg and John Weldon con-eluded in a book on the topic, "In other words, no Book of Mormon cities have ever been located, no Book of Mormon person, place, nation, or name has ever been found, no Book of Mormon artifacts, no Book of Mormon scriptures, no Book of Mormon inscriptions, nothing which demonstrates the Book of Mormon is anything other than myth or invention has ever been found." However, the story is totally different for the New Testament. McRay's conclusions have been echoed by many other scientists, including prominent Australian archaeologist Clifford Wilson, who wrote, "Those who know the facts now recognize that the New Testament must be accepted as a remarkably accurate source book." With Craig Blomberg having established the essential reliability of the New Testament documents, Bruce Metzger having confirmed their accurate transmittal through history, Edwin Yamauchi having demonstrated extensive corroboration by ancient historians and others, and now John McRay having shown how archaeology underscores their trustworthiness, I had to agree with Wilson. The case for Christ, while far from complete, was being constructed on solid bedrock." Notes 15. Kevin D.
