Dear Friend, Most of this edition is dedicated by our love for our men and women in battle. This edition will give you the tools to ensure, in the future, that they only fight and die for the right reasons. Please take this edition very seriously. Your action or inaction will set the course for determining whether the U.S.A. stands for Truth, Law, and Justice, or for enslavement to a world government that is devoid of ANY Judeo-Christian heritage or truth. In today's edition of InfoQuest*, I implore you to do a little something that will GREATLY impact the ability of the United States of America to keep our sovereignty, thereby retaining our ability to be the greatest defender of freedom in the world. How, you ask? By simply printing and following the directions in the attached PDF! CONTENTS: (1) Please Use The Attached PDF! (2) RestoreTheConstitution.com (3) U.S. Troops Under British Command??!! (4) Your Family's $ -> Iraq??!! (5) Dolly is Dead?! ==================== ==================== (1) Please Use The Attached PDF! Dear Friend, PLEASE use the attached PDF now! If you don't already have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software (it lets you open and read PDF files), you can download it for free here: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html Most Americans who watch TV news should, by now, be sick and tired of the United Nations telling the U.S.A what to do! Actually, the U.S. Constitution rules that the U.N. is unconstitutional, anyway. Use the attached PDF to get your neighbors, family, friends, church members, work peers, etc., to get the U.S.A. out of the United Nations (make sure that you keep sheets separate so that people who have the same representatives sign the same papers). ----- Here's the game plan: --- A. Use the PDF ASAP - time is critical! Forward it! --- B. Write a letter to your representatives! You can copy/edit this text: Dear [enter your Federal House rep's name here], Please cosponsor H.R. 1146 ("American Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2003"), which would end U.S. membership in the United Nations. I support getting us out of the UN to preserve our nation's freedom to declare war only when the U.S. Congress determines that war is necessary to preserve American lives, freedom, and property. I do not favor using the U.S. military to enforce UN resolutions. I look forward to your written reply. Sincerely, [Enter your name and address.] --- C. Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11). A new organization called the National Coalition to Restore the Constitution (NCRC) is doing just that, and they need your help. The NCRC will launch Operation Oath, its first campaign, with a website http://www.restoretheconstitution.com and an online petition to bring pressure to bear on Congress to do their duty and uphold their oath - no war without the constitutionally prescribed declaration of war with a bill of particulars outlining the specific acts of war committed by Iraq against the American people - and the promise that if they fail to do their duty in regards to a lawful declaration of war - WE WILL REMEMBER to vote accordingly on election day and encourage our friends and neighbors to do the same!!!! Congress is directly violating its oath of office by ignoring its constitutional duty as the only body given the authority by the Constitution to declare war. Congress has not been given the Constitutional authority to transfer its authority to the President. They can not be allowed to pass the buck and turn the U.S.A. into a dictatorship! This is a great opportunity to hold your congressman accountable to his Oath of Office and educate the public about the Constitution. Please do your part to save your God-Given Rights! http://www.restoretheconstitution.com ==================== ==================== (3) U.S. Troops Under British Command??!! Dear Friend, In the least, my hope is that you are outraged by this news. Do you have a son, husband, father, grandson, wife, daughter, mother, or granddaughter in the U.S. military? Should they be ordered to march, fight, and possibly DIE by a non-US citizen??!! ----- British army to command US troops during war Financial Times http://www.drudgereportarchives.com/data/2003/03/17/20030317_172830_flash2.h tm (The URL above is split due to formatting. Some 2,000 US troops will be placed under British command in the event of a war on Iraq, it was confirmed in London, the first time such an arrangement has applied since the second world war. The unusual arrangement by which the Pentagon will hand over control of some of its forces to a British field commander will deliver a welcome boost to Tony Blair, the embattled prime minister. "This is a surprise departure from usual US policy. There must have been quite a of political maneuvering in the background to achieve this," said Charles Heyman, the editor of Jane's World Armies. The latest development is thought to be unprecedented since combined allied operations during the second world war. Troops from the 15th US Marine Force are expected to be put under the command of Brigadier Jim Dutton, commander Britain's 3 Commando Brigade. But Mr. Heyman, a former British army officer, expressed concern about how the line of command would work in practice after officials confirmed that any of the US Marine commanders would be able to question an order from a senior British officer by going over his head to US central based in Qatar, the Gulf emirate. END ----- Does this bring back any memories? http://www.mikenew.com/index.shtml On October 10, 1995, the 1/15 Battalion of the 3rd infantry Division of the U.S. Army came to attention at 0900 in Schweinfurt, Germany. All but one of the 550 soldiers were wearing a sky-blue baseball-style cap with a United Nations insignia on the front. One was wearing the olive-drab flat cap that is authorized to be worn with the Battle Dress Uniform. With this simple act of disobeying a direct order, Spc. 4 Michael New set the stage for a legal battle that has profound implications for the future of American soldiers into service of the United Nations without the constitutional permission of Congress. http://www.mikenew.com/index.shtml ==================== ==================== (4) Your Family's $ -> Iraq??!! Dear Friend, What's April 15? It now takes 4 months of your gross pay to cover the average amount of taxes to Uncle Sam per year. Look at your paycheck and do the math for yourself (do a one-month analysis). How much money goes to you and your family, and how much goes to Uncle Sam? After you read the following article, I provide one solution. Also, just so you know, the Libertarian Party is well-known for finding unconstitutional spending of Uncle Sam. =============================== NEWS FROM THE LIBERTARIAN PARTY 2600 Virginia Avenue, NW, Suite 100 Washington DC 20037 World Wide Web: http://www.LP.org =============================== For release: March 14, 2003 =============================== For additional information: George Getz, Communications Director Phone: (202) 333-0008 E-Mail: pressreleases@hq.LP.org =============================== U.S. plan to pay government workers in Iraq is affront to taxpayers, Libertarians say WASHINGTON, DC -- A plan to put one out of every 10 Iraqis on the U.S. government's payroll is a case of nation-building gone haywire, Libertarians say. [ ACDNote: During the presidential debates, Bush scorned Gore for supporting nation building. Said he wouldn't do it. ] "Hold onto your wallets, because the U.S. government is going on a hiring binge -- in Iraq," said Geoffrey Neale, chairman of the Libertarian Party. "If George Bush has his way, Iraqis will soon be free from Saddam Hussein but hopelessly dependent on Uncle Sam." Part of the U.S. government's blueprint for occupying and rebuilding Iraq, unveiled at a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing this week, is paying the salaries of at least 2 million government workers, including soldiers, teachers, police officers, hospital workers and bureaucrats. The hope is that making the Iraqis accountable to the U.S. would help deliver "a measure of normalcy and stability" after the fall of dictator Saddam Hussein. In a nation of 23 million people, that means roughly one out of every 10 Iraqis would be getting a paycheck from the U.S. taxpayer, Neale observed. But even Americans who support the war probably had no intention of creating a massive warfare-to-work program overseas, Libertarians note. "People who accused Bill Clinton of nation-building for handing out food in Somalia should be appalled that Bush is handing out 2 million jobs in Iraq," he said. "It's bad enough when politicians put Americans on the dole with make-work programs, but creating massive workfare programs halfway around the world is nation-building gone haywire." One question Americans should ask is where such programs will end, Neale said. "If providing jobs for Iraqis is America's responsibility, why not provide them unemployment benefits, Social Security checks, health insurance, paid vacations, and 401-k retirement plans?" he asked. "And if Bush goes to war against other 'axis of evil' states, could Americans soon be paying the salaries of millions of Iranians and North Koreans? "Those questions are no more absurd than the notion of a U.S. president hanging up 'help wanted' signs in Iraq and forcing Americans to sign their paychecks." Americans should also consider the possibility that the Iraqi jobs initiative will be just another welfare program in disguise, Neale said. "When the U.S. government briefly shut down during a Congressional budget dispute in 1995, 98 percent of the employees in some agencies were deemed 'non-essential' and told not to bother coming to work," he noted. "If that percentage holds true in Iraq, 1,960,000 of the 2 million Iraqis will be non-essential government workers. It's hard to think of anything more outrageous than forcing hard-working Americans to pay 1,960,000 Iraqis not to work." If Bush wants to promote stability in Iraq, Libertarians have a better solution, Neale said: Don't destabilize it with a bombing campaign in the first place. ----- IQ* Solution: TRIM http://www.trimonline.org/ A non-political nationwide network of educational committees and individuals organized to reduce out-of-control federal spending. TRIM seeks lower taxes and less government by influencing the U.S. House of Representatives through voter education. The TRIM Bulletin is available for each of the 435 House members and contains a report card on the congressman's votes on recent major spending bills. ==================== ==================== (5) Dolly is Dead?! BreakPoint with Charles Colson Commentary #030318 - 03/18/2003 http://www.BreakPoint.org Goodbye Dolly Putting a Cloned Sheep to Sleep A six-year-old died "at age twelve" last month. More than six years ago, Dolly the sheep was cloned from a cell of a six-year-old ewe. Many researchers think that as a result her body was middle-aged at birth. Dolly's experimenters used 277 cloned embryos to produce one sheep, meaning 276 failed. Many of those attempts produced deformed fetuses that died in the womb. Some were born dead. Others were born alive, twice their normal size, and died a few days after birth. Even Dolly, the "successful" clone, showed premature aging by age 3. Last year she was diagnosed with arthritis. Then she developed a virus-induced lung disease severe enough to justify "putting her out of her misery" on Valentine's Day. Brought to life by cloning, Dolly was euthanized. In this, there lies a cautionary tale. Dr. Richard Gardner is an Oxford University zoology professor and chair of the Royal Society working group on stem cell research and therapeutic cloning. He stated, "We must await the results of the post-mortem on Dolly in order to assess whether her relatively premature death was in any way connected with the fact that she was a clone. If there is a link, it will provide further evidence of the dangers inherent in reproductive cloning and the irresponsibility of anybody who is trying to extend such work to humans." Coming from a person of Dr. Gardner's stature, those words are worth heeding. There have been several recent statements that live-birth human cloning either has occurred or is "only around the corner." The Raëlians claimed the birth of a cloned baby girl, born the day after Christmas - a boast that some observers estimate gained them $600 million worth of publicity without verification. In what may be a more credible claim, Italian physician Severino Antinori and others announced last year that they would help infertile couples produce the first human clone by 2003. One of his partners said, "The genie is out of the bottle." What are we doing here? If it took 277 attempts to clone a sheep, how many failures would it take to produce a human? And would anyone really want the rare success to be born middle-aged and, thus, have an abbreviated life? Pro-Life Infonet quotes cloning expert Dr. Patrick Dixon with additional concerns: "The greatest worry many scientists have," he writes, "is that human clones, even if they don't have monstrous abnormalities in the womb, will need hip replacements in their teenage years and perhaps develop senile dementia by their twentieth birthday." Dolly's birth was one of the biggest news stories of the nineties. Scientists made extravagant promises about medical and technological advances. Well, Dolly's embarrassingly premature death received little attention, precisely because it exposes the horrors of cloning. Life is not a toy with which cloners can experiment. Allowing human cloning for experimentation or medical research, or any purpose, will result in cloning for live births. There is only one safeguard that will keep cloned children from being manufactured: It is a total ban on human cloning, just what the Weldon bill does in the House and the Brownback bill (S. 245) does in the Senate.
